This quirky throwback to old style gaming got me hooked pretty quickly. Although the game is fairly straightforward I found myself wanting to continue attempting to get further and further even though I have a bunch of games that I need to be getting to at the same time. I don’t know how far I will get into it but I can promise you I will be putting more time into it than I have so far!

As a magnificent warrior known across the land thanks to your prowess with a shovel you’re only failure caused you to lose your partner in battle. After years of waiting your opportunity for vengeance has finally arrived! Fight your way through hordes of evil creatures to reach your goal and hopefully find some peace.

Whether you’re a hardcore gamer or a casual pastime player you’ll enjoy this game. As a nice way to pass the time it is not too difficult but in its simplicity it does bring challenges. One of the first extremely frustrating points for me was defeating the boss only to fall through a gap in the ground immediately after.

Keep your wits about you and your shovel out! I highly recommend trying out Shovel Knight, I’m sure you’ll dig it.
