Atlas Earth

Atlas Earth

Ok, Atlas Earth is a “game” that I have been seeing ads about for a long long time. I honestly have always ignored it but recently thought “what’s that all about”.

While looking up information about the game I quickly realized two things. One: The information about the game that I can find out there is largely speculative or not particularly helpful. Two: If I’m interested in it enough to be looking it up, I should be writing about it for others. When both those things are true I tend to test out a game.

Let’s get into it.

Atlas Earth is a game where you purchase virtual chunks of property around the world and earn rent from those areas. You can spend real world money or earn in game currency in order to be able to purchase more plots of land. The more you own the more income you will earn. That’s the whole “game”.

Here’s where it gets tricky. While all that is true, the amount that you are earning is absolutely tiny. I’ve had my one plot of land for 5 days now and I’ve earned $0.003 dollars. Yes, that is correct, less than half a penny in 5 days. That is including some of the bonus boosts that help increase your earning.

Here’s my pledge. I will continue playing Atlas Earth until the end of April (3 months) periodically updating this article along the way to give a real idea of how good this game can be for earning money without spending it. To articulate I WILL NOT BE SPENDING ANY REAL WORLD MONEY.

First things first. Something that I messed up on is that if you sign up using someone’s referral code you apparently gain an extra 100 Atlas Bucks (AB) which will earn you a second plot of land. I didn’t know this until later so I, unfortunately, did not receive that bonus. At this moment players are unable to give out new codes but if you can find someone posting an old one online it is supposed to work still. I have not had any luck in that sense.

Earning Atlas Bucks.

There are a few ways to get ahold of Atlas Bucks. The easiest way is to spend real world money on them. I highly recommend against this as it just makes it harder and harder to ever reach a profit point. Even though I have only made $0.003 dollars at this time, it’s technically all profit.

You can get the log in reward daily to earn AB’s as well. Generally this is just one a day but the longer you remain consistent the more Bonus Bucks you’ll get on top of it.

There is also the ability to do surveys to earn Atlas Bucks. I started getting into a few surveys and quickly exited them. The amount of personal information that they are requesting is concerning to me. If that is something that doesn’t bother you then go for it but be wary. Looking into it more there are also a lot of complaints from people stating that they will be booted from a survey part way through for not qualifying, making it a waste of time as well. I would suggest avoiding this avenue personally but it’s entirely up to you.

In the shop there is the ability to watch a video once every 20 minutes to earn a buck. Being consistent on that will earn you bucks slowly but consistently without any financial cost. I’ve been trying to do that when I remember but the videos are long and I am forgetful as well. At this point I have only earned 10 AB’s through that avenue. If you can keep on top of it than it is a decent method to get ahead.

You can also purchase trips through the app which will apparently earn you bucks. I am not even going to look into this one as it seems questionable and I do not like risking issues of that magnitude in order to earn fake currency in a game. Much like the surveys though, it is up to you.

Finally there are also game that you can download through the app and play in order to earn AB’s. From the little looking into that I have done this method seems safe enough. Especially if you’re someone who likes to play mobile games anyway. Be aware of the in game requirements in order to earn the Atlas Bucks so that you can get to that point quickly. Usually the best method on the money earning apps similar to this is to hit those requirements as quickly as you can and then bounce to the next game. I will be testing the games out soon.

Ok that was a lot but to sum it up. Do the daily check in, watch the videos and possibly play the games. More on that in the future.

Atlas Earth Gameplay

Being a location based game really only affects you in two ways: One; you can only purchase land, badges, ect based on where you are. (these things offer other bonuses later in game). Two; there are diamonds around the map that you can pick up earning you the ability to spin a wheel that may win you things. Mainly Atlas Bucks and other diamonds. You can only spin 3 times a day but you can pick up as many diamonds as you find. At this point I have only gotten one diamond and spun one time earning 1 AB. Definitely worth doing but, again, my forgetfulness stops me from opening up the app while walking the dogs which would otherwise be the perfect time to find them.

Final thing that I want to note is the fact that I am going through a lot more battery lately. This could have something to do with the fact that I am simply on the app (and a few others) a lot more in the last 5 days OR that it is using a lot of energy in the background. I’ll continue to monitor that for future updates.

All in all so far I would say that Atlas Earth is not harming anything to try but hasn’t currently been worthwhile.

Interesting side note. The most that I have read that someone is earning monthly is $700. That sounded great until I found out that they have estimated their spending to be somewhere between 100,000 and 200,000 on the game since it came out.

Things to come:

Is it really draining the battery life.

Are the games worth it.

How my account has been progressing over time.

Keep checking in to see if this game is for you.

Feb 16 Update

Quick update. I have reached $0.006 of a dollar. Normally your income can be multiplied by x20 but the current event is x50 giving that extra boost. It is worth keeping on top of the multiplier during that event. Normally I am trying to not become too obsessed with it and only maxing out the timer (6 hours) when I get up and before bed.

Also I have been playing one game through their store. There is also an event going on for that right now giving double the Atlas Bucks for the rewards. I was able to get almost 200 Atlas bucks over the course of a day. I will say I spent way more time on the phone than I like to but I was able to to purchase 2 plots of land from it. That being said the game that I was playing, like all the games, has tiers that you must reach in order to gain the Atlas bucks. I reached level 120 for what I earned and the next reward is at level 800. Be aware of these tiers as reaching level 800 is absolutely not worth the effort on its own. If you happen to like the game you’re playing then why not though.
