Apex just received a much needed patch on April 16.

Players have been reporting disadvantages when using two of the larger characters, Gibraltar and Caustic. The major issue being that they are just plain old much larger targets, and therefore easier to hit, with no real advantage to their size. After analyzing their game data, and listening to tons of players complain for months, it seems developers have finally answered with a patch of improvements and adjustments.

EA hopes these improvements will encourage players to use Gibraltar and Caustic more often, making them more competitive against nimble characters like Wraith and Bangalore.

EA is addressing this concern and some other known UI glitches, as well as some weapon balancing problems, in the 1.1.1 Patch!

Patch Highlights

  • Caustic and Gibraltar received a new passive perk called “Fortified“, granting them 10% damage resistance!
  • Weapon Balancing: Improved lower body damage when using Sniper weapons, Reduced Sniper weapon sway, improved DMR buffs, reduced Spitfire damage, Reduced magazine size for Wingman, improved mag size and beam charge for Havoc.
  • More Battle pass XP opportunities planned for this season
  • Jump Ship speed increased by 50%
  • Bug fix: UI glitch with incorrect boost badge percentages shown.
