Cyberpunk 2077 Development Delayed

cyberpunk 2077 delays

Updated for October 28, 2020

Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red’s newest IP and arguable the most hyped game of 2020, just has it’s release date pushed an upsetting 5 months. For those of you who aren’t familiar with the game, here’s a quick summary from the official website! (Where you can currently pre-order)

“Cyberpunk 2077 is an open-world, action-adventure story set in Night City, a megalopolis obsessed with power, glamour and body modification. You play as V, a mercenary outlaw going after a one-of-a-kind implant that is the key to immortality. You can customize your character’s cyberware, skillset and playstyle, and explore a vast city where the choices you make shape the story and the world around you.” – Cyberpunk.net

CD Projekt Red updated fans of the unfortunate news in a January blog post;

Alright, so we all have to wait a little longer, but maybe that’s not so bad considering they will have 5 more months to test, perfect, and remove as many bugs as possible. With a release this big, can you blame them for wanting to be perfectionists?

Time for Some good news

CD Projekt Red just confirmed via Twitter that purchasers of the Xbox One version of Cyberpunk (launch version) will receive a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X version when it is released! Adding that, “Gamers should never be forced to purchase the same game twice or pay for upgrades.”

What do you think of the delay? Were you amped for the April release? Will you purchase the Xbox Series X this holiday season and play Cyberpunk 2077 in next gen graphics?

Cyberpunk Delayed Again, For the Final Time?

Cyberpunk2077 Twitter tweeted this press release which details complications with their mid-November release date, breaking the news that they will be pushing back the launch 21 days to December 10th. The delay stems from concerns around compatibility with each of the nine versions of the game that will be available all at once – including the next-gen versions on PS5, Xbox Series X, and current platforms such as Stadia, PS4 and PC!
