I know that this time is likely just as hard for you as everyone else out there so we would like to say right off the bat that we appreciate you. With that being said it feels like you have gone dark from our world. It is hard to say if we're noticing those usual gaps between updates with more intensity than normal or if the lead up to what would have been E3 caused the lack of announcements coming our way. Either way it feels as if your voices have gone quiet in this, our time of need.
You may be thinking "A pandemic is no time to worry about video games", I beg to differ. Society has been divided into two groups for the time being; Essential workers and those who aren't. No matter what category one has fallen into, now is the time for an escape more than ever. Specifically, the kind of escape we find in the worlds you create.
We know that you hold yourselves to high standards and we see it in your final products but for the first time ever getting the games out feels more important than polishing the lighting details. The sway of the grass as your character crawls through it is unbelievable but for the time being we are less concerned about these "getaway worlds" being perfect and more concerned about just having the world to get away to.
Those that are stuck at home have untold amounts of free time. Those that aren't have unreal levels of stress right now. Both are easily helped with the complete and utter absorption into a game, whatever you can throw our way. Whether it be a pixelated farming sim like Stardew Valley or the AAA graphics and fast-paced action of Call of Duty Warzone.
Even with all the releases of late we would love to get our hands on more. Thank you for everything that you do and are in the midst of doing.
Someone with a lot of free time lately.
P.S. To all essential workers out there who not only aren't getting this "free time" but are also putting yourselves in harms way in order to bring us the things we need. We couldn't be more grateful. We know this can't be easy for you and we just want you to know that we appreciate all that you are doing and wish you all good health both physically and mentally through these times. Thank You.
