I got a bunch of new games over the holiday season so here we go with a bunch of Quick Blips!!! This Quick Blip is for Borderlands 3, I decided to play as the Beast Master.
Borderlands 3 is the fourth main game in the series (fifth if you count the Borderlands Telltale game). Having learnt from the previous iterations of the series, Borderlands 3 has a lot of things that it excels in. Being able to mark inventory that you dislike as junk makes selling things extremely easy and stops you from wasting time double checking items that you’ve looked at before.
The story line is very easy to follow with CL4P-TP (claptrap) leading you through the beginning and helping you understand the controls a little easier. As always with claptrap there’s a lot of humor involved, mainly by those who are attempting to destroy him..
The skill tree is extremely easy to navigate and can be reset and re-spec continuously allowing you to adjust your playing style as you go. There’s a lot of new things for every character meaning that there’s a lot of reading to get through. This leads to one of the major issues with the game so far.
The text on the console versions of the game is extremely difficult to read. Like crazy difficult. Like I either have to move really close to the T.V. or just bypass any reading that I would do meaning that I likely have sold a good weapon because I couldn’t properly read its benefits. This has been an issue from the time of release and they have announced that they are working on a patch for the problem but it has yet to happen.
Another thing that I am finding to be a real pain is looting. When there is loot and ammo on the ground it can be very difficult to distinguish between the two. Both emit a light beam but the loot does register an image when you’re scrolling over it. I don’t recall off-hand if the previous games handled this differently but I don’t remember being quite so annoyed by it. I mean when there’s a gun laying on the ground it’s pretty easy to tell, but if it’s a shield or grenade mod, it can blend in with the ammo drops very easily.
Lastly, something that the game boasted during its trailers is something that I don’t particularly enjoy, the crazy amount of guns. I might be an outlier on this one but with the insane number of weapons available, I find myself spending a lot of time comparing items rather than playing the game. This may not be such an annoyance if the text wasn't an issue but combined I do just bypass a lot of weapons without looking at them if the ones that I am using at the time suit me.
All in all..
All in all I think this latest Borderlands is another win so far! With its enticing storyline and quirky game play it’s been a lot of fun! A full review will be on the way once completed.
Borderlands 3 offers a lot of great gameplay with a few frustrating issues. A wonderful storyline and lots of options for play style with the most major downfall being that the text is so small it can be difficult to read. With a patch to solve the text in the works I would highly recommend this game.
Epic games is releasing daily games for free until the end of the year! Keep and eye out and jump on the chance, each game is only available for a day!
It's finally here! Hyrule Warriors: age of calamity came out today. Did you wonder what happened during those 100 years that link was napping? Get your hands on Hyrule Warriors to see what went down. Not sure about the game? Grab the free demo on the Nintendo eShop and test it out for yourself.
Darkest Dungeon is captivating as soon as you start it up but will that maintain. With so many games out there some just aren't worth your time and for me Darkest dungeon falls into the latter category.
Looking for an open world game full of quests yet with the options to craft and farm? Yonder might be what you've been waiting for! With its mix of crafting elements to build up the world and exploration you'll find yourself scouring the island to save the inhabitants from the murk that is taking over this island.
Genshin Impact: Gacha gaming that’s… good? I often find myself not knowing quite how to feel about mobile games. While capable of providing cheap thrills and alleviating temporary boredom, they generally don’t possess the sort of staying power more robust console and PC titles do.
Has gaming lost its magic? Are you unable to find a game worth your time? Do you scroll endlessly through your library and waste time watching trailers - but nothing engages you? You might have Gamer's Block! Don't worry though, there's hope for you yet.
The game is a blast to play. I am not one who tends to play these competitive first person shooters but I'm starting to think maybe I should be spending more time playing them. I did get better over the course of playing but still got obliterated each round. Some of that was due to glitching in the game but generally it was just me.
I don't play a lot of competitive first person shooters. Call of Duty specifically I haven't played since high school. That made getting Beta access to Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War a little nerve wracking. I figured that I should record my first attempt at playing this game so that you can what it's all about
Most games that I remember from years past are the classics known for their great gameplay. I can confidently say that's not the case for this game. The crazy nature of this game, from animation to concept, is definitely what has kept it in my mind all these years.
This quirky throwback to old style gaming got me hooked pretty quickly. Even with it's simple play style the game offers a variety of challenges that'll keep you staring that the screen.
I bet there is a number of you out there who are going "Finally a third Pikmin!" Well sorry to burst your bubble but the game has actually been out for a long while. Whether you've never played the third game or just haven't touched it in a while the free demo in the Nintendo Store is worth the download!
Although the game came out 9 years ago it still has a lot of playability today. Whether you're just trying to find areas that you've never explored or creating a whole new build opposite or what you normally play there's numerous ways to keep you interested. With the addition of the Amiibo it can be even more exciting.
The game reminds me of a classic arcade side scroller game but with an upgraded 3D depth to the scenery. Flying in a plane (that can also fly underwater?) while shooting the things that come onto the screen to stay alive and hopefully upgrade as you go!
While we are awaiting the sequel in the much beloved “Breath of the Wild” series Nintendo surprised us with a prequel! Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity lets you play through the war in the years previous to the adventure we’ve come to love. Get through Hyrule as any of the previous heroes!
Nintendo has adamantly stated that the DS would not be brought to an end because of the Switch. This was hard to believe as the Nintendo Switch is very similar to the DS consoles. Staying true to their word for much longer than anticipated their latest update may bring an end to the DS.
